Ideas For Things To Do In St Ives

The Beaches Of St Ives

As soon as the weather gets warmer, my kids are on the beach in a flash. We have such great beaches in St Ives, all of them different but all of them beautiful. You can read about each beach and what it has to offer here.

Porthmeor Beach is lifeguarded throughout the Easter holidays. The lifeguards are working from 1st April - 17th April, and then again on the 22nd and 23rd April from 10am - 6pm. This is the only beach in St Ives that is lifeguarded over Easter.

All the beaches in St Ives are still "dog friendly" all day during the Easter holidays. The ban doesn't start until 1st May (between the hours of 9am and 6pm).

Beach Clean - Porthmeor to Porthminster

1st April 11am - 1pm

There is a big beach clean to de-trash the beaches all the way from Porthmeor to Porthminster. Meet in front of St Ives Surf School on Porthmeor beach at 11am. Demelza also goes to Godrevy (Kids £12 and Adults £15). They also go to Seal Island (Kids £10 and Adults £12).

The Four Sisters (this replaces the bright yellow Isla Bea) - also goes to Godrevy Lighthouse & Seal Island. This is the largest passenger vessel in St Ives and they also do private charter hire.

The Rib Ride should also be back up and running. This is a bit of a high speed thrill ride which lasts 30mins and costs £12 for kids and £15 for adults.

For bookings just head down to the harbour and you will usually hear the cry of the boat trip "touts" (they are very nice people!).
