Cinemas In St Ives Cornwall
I say cinemas plural, we only really have one all year round cinema in St Ives - the Merlin Cinema in Royal Square. However, there are several other places that show films throughout the year that are really worth a mention!
St Ives Cinema
The main cinema in St Ives ain't posh. It is a small place tucked away in a fairly tatty building opposite the Kidz R Us Theatre on The Stennack in St Ives. It may be small but it shows all the latest releases for REALLY good prices. They also have childrens sessions on a weekend called Mini Merlins. This costs £1.99 per ticket (including adults) and they show popular childrens films.
Cinema On The Beach
For a few nights during the Summer months, a cinema screen is erected on Porthmeor Beach. Films are shown in the evening (quite late as it needs to be fairly dark) and you can take your own seating, food and drink and blankets. Limited deckchairs are provided and they also serve food and drink. Last year tickets were £5 and they showed La La Land, The Greatest Showman, Paddington 2 and Baywatch.
