About me and why I wrote the book

I've lived in St Ives for nearly 15 years, and our family life here has become one big, wonderful exploration. We’ve spent countless days getting involved in everything the town has to offer, checking out every nook and cranny, trying every activity, and making a lifetime of memories.

Along the way, my camera has become an extension of my arm. After taking a photography course in the St Ives library (which gave my confidence a huge boost)I’ve captured thousands of photos and videos trying to chase that famous, luminous light that artists have loved for centuries. But more than that, I’ve become utterly fascinated by the soul of the town. I love digging into its rich history, from legendary artists and smugglers to old fishing and mining tales, and uncovering the secret, hidden gems that you only find when you truly live and breathe a place.

I’ve poured all of my passion, local knowledge, and absolute favorite photographs into this book. I hope it reads as a warm, friendly, and really useful companion from someone who loves this town to pieces.

What Is an eBook?

An eBook is a digital book designed to be read on your phone, tablet, or computer. It is NOT a physical, printed copy (though a print version is on the horizon!). We send it to you via email and download, so you get access to it instantly. You get 3 downloads per copy, so you can save it onto 3 devices at the same time.

Getting it loaded up onto your device is simple (honestly it is!). We provide clear, straightforward instructions on how to download and open the book. Most Apple, Android, and Windows devices come pre-loaded with free reading apps like Apple Books or Google Play Books, making it effortless to read, navigate, and click straight through to our favourite local spots online.

Why is it not available in a hard copy?

Because it is really expensive to get printed. We are hoping that if it proves popular, we will be able to save up and get it printed IRL.
