Favourite Restaurants St Ives Cornwall

My Favourite Restaurants In St Ives

St Ives has an amazing range of places to eat out in. From top notch fine dining, to takeaways and everything in between. You will be spoilt for choice, I’ve never had a bad meal out in St Ives.

Before you read this please do bear in mind that I haven't eaten everywhere in St Ives. If I've missed off a place, it is because I've not been there...yet!

The Mermaid

Mermaid Restaurant St Ives Cornwall

The Mermaid is a lovely, cozy restaurant at the top of Fish St in St Ives. It serves loads of wonderful fish dishes.

I love all the memorabilia on the walls!

Rum & Crab Shack

The Rum and Crab Shack St Ives Cornwall

The Rum & Crab Shack is a super atmospheric restaurant in the harbour. It is quite dark inside - not in a bad way, in a kind of inside of an old ship type of way. They do amazing crab and even better rum cocktails!

Talay Thai

Talay Thai Restaurant St Ives Cornwall

Oh my goodness, Talay Thai is gooooood. My mouth is watering just at the thought of eating there.

Talay Thai Restaurant Food St Ives Cornwall

They do utterly fabulous Thai food - my favourites are the red and green Thai curries with a Mojito cocktail on the side. Even better if you can get a table in the window ovelooking the harbour.

You can't book a table at Talay Thai but they will put you on a waiting list if they are full. They have a cocktail bar downstairs to wait in which is lovely.

Peppers

Peppers is such a fab little restaurant - serving very tasty and hearty Italian food. It is sometimes missed as it is up a little road off Fore St, but it is well worth going to. Their stone baked pizzas are so good!!!

Peppers Restaurant St Ives Cornwall

Tucked in the heart of St Ives, Peppers Pasta & Pizza is a cosy, family-friendly spot that’s all about hearty Italian flavours. They make freshly made pasta, stone-baked pizzas, and generous portions that hit the spot every time.

With its relaxed, welcoming vibe and friendly staff, it’s the perfect place to grab a casual lunch or dinner after a day exploring the town.

Porthmeor Beach Cafe

Porthmeor Beach Cafe St Ives Cornwall

Porthmeor Beach Cafe is the one right in front of the Tate. It overlooks Porthmeor Beach and has lots of different sections to sit in.

My favourite thing is their heated pods. These are tucked away at the back and have a roof overhead but are open to the sea. They seat quite a number of people (probably up to 8 or 9?) and if it gets cold you get blankets and can put the heater on.

They serve great food - lots of tapas things and a fab thai prawn curry.

Porthminster Cafe

Porthminster Cafe St Ives Cornwall

Porthminster Cafe is a super fabulous restaurant. We go there for celebrations and treats as it is a little more fancy than some of the others. They do amazing fish dishes including the tastiest crispy squid starter (still thinking about it!).

Porthminster Cafe St Ives Cornwall

It is situated right on Porthminster Beach too, so you get fab views too.

Blas Burgerworks

Blas Burgerworks St Ives Cornwall

Blas Burgerworks quite simply do the best burgers I've ever eaten. Juicy, tasty, huge and loads of choice. Their onion rings are incredible too!

Blas Burgerworks St Ives Cornwall

Blas is only small - it is in a little place just at the start of The Warren by Westcotts Quay. It has a lovely, cozy atmosphere with a sort of open kitchen bit.

West Greek

West Greek Favourite Restaurant St Ives Cornwall

West Greek is right at the far end of Porthmeor Beach (on what is known as West Beach). It is a Greek street food cafe which serves AMAZING gyros and souvlaki wraps and platters, as well as a range of vegetarian and vegan options, traditional Greek cakes and sweets, and a selection of Greek wines. It is located right on the beach and makes the perfect dining spot to watch the sunset over the sea.
