St Ives Sailing Club
If you're looking for a relaxed sailing experience with a welcoming community feel, let me introduce you to St Ives Sailing Club (SISC). It is a small but spirited club that’s been keeping sails aloft in St Ives Bay since 1972.
Nestled at the back of the Sloop Inn car park, it’s a friendly local hub where you don’t even need to own a boat to join in.
For just £65 a year, membership grants access to the club’s own fleet of dinghies (Lasers, Picos, Fusions, Bahias).
Not a sailor yet? No worries! You’re welcome to crew alongside someone experienced or sign up for a taster sail to dip your toes in.
It’s open to all ages and abilities, including visitors who can already sail and fancy a sail aroundthe bay.
Club sailing typically happens on Wednesday evenings (weather and daylight permitting) and Saturday afternoons through spring and summer
If racing’s your thing, they run fair handicap fleet races—two on Saturdays starting around 14:00 and one midweek in the early evening.
To keep things lively, once a year SISC hosts a regatta, and visiting boats are more than welcome to compete.
